BLT School Feeding Program: A Partnership of Vigan and Jollibee
The Busog, Lusog, Talino Program (BLT) School Feeding program is a major initiative of Jollibee Foundation( JF) that works with parents, schools and communities to address hunger among Grades 1 and 2 pupils, helping them stay in school and learn better. For Vigan City, we selected five elementary schools based on the incidence of malnourished children to be the beneficiaries of the program. These are Bulala –Paratong Elementary School, Jose Singson Elementary School, Nagsangalan Elementary School, Pantay Elementary School and Vigan Central School.
Parents will prepare low-cost , nutritious daily lunch for P11.00/daily feeding allowance for 136 days and identified volunteers shall monitor weight and attendance monthly. The feeding program is for 3 years and feeding expenses shall be borne by the Jollibee foundation counter parting with the LGU . For the first year 75% from JF and 25% from LGU , for the 2nd year 50 % from JF and 50 % from the LGU and then for the 3rd year 0% JF and 100% from the LGU.
