Vigan is the Most Child Friendly Component City in the Philippines due to the various programs and projects that are geared toward the development of children.
The Metro Vigan Alay Lakad 2009 was sponsored by the City of Vigan to support the national government’s call for the development of the youth. The theme this is “Lakad Kabataan, Ituloy and Kaunlaran” which highlight the importance of giving the youth the best education for effective nation-building and strengthening their roles in the community. The municipalities of Sta. Catalina, San Vicente, Bantay and Caoayan joined the annual Walk for a Cause.
